How Resilient is Your Business?

The role of procurement is to build robust supply chains that can weather disruptions and stay resilient. To do that you need to understand risk and take steps to manage it. The CIPS Risk and Resilience Assessment Tool is an online self-assessment platform that will help you identify risks in your supply chain and provide guidance to mitigate key areas of risk.

As we gather responses, our findings will draw comparisons across sectors and regions, allowing you to benchmark your organisation’s risk profile against others.

If you'd like to provide any feedback about the tool, please email resilience@cips.org.

How the tool works

The assessment is free and open to organisations in all industries.

The questions are based on the seven Risk Clusters of the CIPS Resilience Model – Technical, Legal, Governmental, Ethical, Geographical, Functional, and Performance.

The assessment takes about 15 minutes to complete after which you will be given a report suggesting actions to take, and pointing to further resources.

The questions are not sector-specific and are meant to stimulate thinking around your organisations resilience.

CIPS Resilience Model

Supply Chain Risk and Resilience

Whilst there are numerous BSI and ISO standards developed for business continuity, risk management and organisational resilience there is no global benchmark that can be used to test and develop an organisation’s end-to-end supply chain resilience. The objective of this CIPS introduction along with the forthcoming good practice guidance and online tool is set to fill this gap. This will help procurement and supply management professionals support the survival of their organisations by identifying supply chain risks whilst protecting shareholders and the general public against the effects of disruption and malpractice.
